Park Psychology Services in York offer a wide range of comprehensive Private and Independant of Neurodevelopmental Assessments for both adults and children. These include but are not restricted to:

- Neurodevelopmental assessments and assessments exploring neurodivergence
In addition to our assessments, we also offer post-diagnostic therapeutic support for children and adults; this takes place with a clinical psychologist.
Our comprehensive range of services are offered both online and in person.
ABOUT PARK PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES
My name is Dr Kate Empson, a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director of Park Psychology Services.
After working in the NHS for a number of years, I set up my own practice in 2021, with the aim of providing a service to support people to access high quality, thorough and collaborative assessments and support.
Our team includes Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and a Consultant Psychiatrist. We provide neurodevelopmental assessments and work with both children and adults. We also provide therapeutic support for people following a diagnosis, for those who may self-identify as being neurodivergent and for people living with a learning disability.
The service is led by an autistic clinical psychologist, with personal experience of neurodivergence. We are passionate about providing a high quality service that is friendly, supportive and professional.

We are passionate about providing in-depth, detailed assessments.
– Based in Heworth in Yorkshire, we are ideally located to help people across York, Yorkshire and our online services allow us to assist patients far beyond.
– We complete detailed, holistic assessments that unpick strengths and focus on environmental changes that can be made.
– We are also trained in assessing children and people who may “mask” elements of their presentation. Plus we are trained in specialist tools that explore this type of presentation.
– We are neuro-affirmative in our approach and understand autism and ADHD as differences that include strengths.
– Our assessments include “gold standard” tools endorsed by NICE Guidelines and include a consideration of other factors that might be contributing to how a person is presenting.
– We have a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team that includes Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Psychology.
Our assessments are used by families to access NHS services. We also signpost families to our Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, who can prescribe medication. We are hopeful that we will be able to offer this to adults soon, too. For adult ADHD assessments, we are able to facilitate online assessments where needed, too.
